It is a time to celebrate mothers and motherhood. For Marianne, Lottie and Patsy there is much to be celebrated but also a lot to be worried about.

Marianne has the prospect of spending Mother's Day with her dreaded in-laws.

Patsy wants a day with just her son and her mum – no annoying fiance ruining her equilibrium.

Lottie desperately wants husband Colin to reconcile his differences with his mother, now bound in a nursing home and taking all her anger out on the furniture.
